NOW FEATURING THE DESIGN YOUR OWN WORKOUT MATRIX MENU OPTION!!!All I can say is, wow! This isn't your mother's yoga. Dance the Chakras Yoga Workout features two 30 min. sessions. starting with a complete 30 minute Kundalini Yoga routine, invigorating, dynamic, and profoundly effective, just like Ana & Ravi's other workouts. The 2nd set is not your usual "Trance" fare, but an energetic, pulsating, sequence of mostly lead movement routines. This section is pretty aerobic and somewhat intense. Although the moves seem simple, those who don't have a dance or aerobic, etc., background can easily participate. (This DVD allows the user to pre-program their own workout.) Dance 1 is Tribal Dance. The others feature Funky Temple Dance, Dance of Power, and Heart Dance. The last two segments can only be described as blissful. Tom Carden's music on this one is hands down the best music on a yoga DVD. Like all their recent offerings, Ana & Ravi have broken away from the yoga pack with this exciting, innovative DVD.

Mood-elevating workout
Dance the Chakras is an excellent video. Reviewers before me have already done a great job of describing the segments, so I won't go into those. Instead, in case you are feeling at all hesitant about a dance workout as yoga, let me reassure you that you will love this! I am the most awkward dancer out there, and at the end of this dvd, I feel great, happy, self-assured, and positive. It's not about looking a certain way, but feeling a certain way. At the end of this workout, I am always smiling. Beyond the great emotional lift, you'll also be burning calories, and working on balance and flexibility, so you can't lose! Try it, you'll love it!

Different & Fun
I initially just watched the dvd before actually using it and, I'll admit, it was a little humorous to me. I also felt really intimidated by the limberness of Ana, BUT, upon attempting the dvd and exercises I felt really invigorated and inspired.
Although I have experience in hatha yoga, this kundalini yoga is new to me and this dvd is extremely educational, fun and a work out! I found myself commenting on how I couldn't believe my body was sore when I didn't even break a sweat! I am so motivated to increase my flexibility and the practice of yoga.
I can't wait to buy more from this series:)

Really fun workout!
This is one of my favorite Ravi & Ana DVD's. It is SOO FUN!!!! I would recommend using the matrix option on this DVD. Start out with the breath primer if you are just starting out with kundalini, then tune in, warm up stretches, and the first set of exercise. Then I would recommend choosing three of the dances, then doing the second set, followed by the other three dances, and then the relaxation, meditation and closing prayer.
The way the DVD is set up is the you do the two exercise sets in a row, then all of the dances, which didn't sound like a good idea to me, as I wanted to dance!
Customizing this DVD is essential. The workout sets are great as usual, but the dances are just AMAZING. Don't expect to "learn" how to dance from these videos. While Ana demonstrates some dances the point is to just feel them out, I wouldn't try to copy her movements exactly, just use them as inspiration. You really have to just get into the grove and let go, I was really sweating after doing three of the dances!!!!!
Afterwards I felt so great. This is a must have DVD if you are into Ravi & Ana!

Wonderful For Stress Relief
This is my go-to dvd when I'm stressed out. Nothing makes me feel as buttery and blissful as the yoga portion of Dance the Chakras. If I'm Really Stressed Out, I would do the yoga twice--it's that good. I have a huge dvd collection and lots of times my focus changes to other fitness dvds. Crosstraining is good, but some dvds are essential. I always regret when I've lapsed in doing DTC. My next purchase will be Journey Through the Chakras as it seems to be a longer version of DTC.
Ravi's dvds can seem strange upon viewing. I initially thought the yoga portion was pointless. However, as a yoga and kundalini newbie I decided follow the advice of other yoga enthusiasts. I'm glad I did. I was able to do all of the yoga with a little practice.
If the yoga portion of Dance the Chakras is my meds, then the dance portion is my fun. I love the music and the variety this dvd offers. The chaptering is also great as I can do whatever sections I want. A large portion of my exercise collection is dancey dvds. The mix of dancey & yoga in this dvd is perfection. It's never going to leave my collection.

Fluid, Organic, Moving!
I love this workout from start to finish. I was skeptical about the dance part, but Wow!!!! I felt immediate results after one session. I felt so flexible and I didn't feel like eating I felt too full on feeling good!!! The dance part is so much fun and the moves they teach are so fluid and natural and so so opening for the hips! The yoga set is awesome as well in its completeness, interesting and fun sequence, and similar great music to fire you up.
With the Matrix option, I like to program the dance moves first and then the floor work afterwards. After this workout every single muscle feels as if it has received hours of massage, and for days afterward, I feel both relaxed and energized!
